TALLEST BUILDING IN THE WORLD 

The Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper in Dubai with a total height of 829.8 meters (2722 ft) and a roof height (excluding antenna) of 828 meters ( 2717 ft).It has been the tallest building in the world since 2009. The building has 2,909 stairs from the ground floor to 160th floor.

Apart from holding the world record for being the tallest building in the world ,the Burj Khalifa holds six other world records

The Burj Khalifa is also the tallest freestanding structure in the world, has the highest number of stories in the world, has the tallest service elevator in the world and similar other records.


It took 22 million man-hours to complete the Burj Khalifa. At the peak of construction, 12,000 workers worked on the building per day.

It took more than 1,10,000 tons of concrete,55,000 tons of steel rebar to build it. The weight of the concrete used is equivalent to 1,00,000 elephants.
The speed of the elevator in Burj Khalifa is 10 meters per second, making the elevator as one among the fastest in the world.

The elevator takes only one minute to reach the observation deck on the 124th floor.
The tip of the sphere of the Burj Khalifa can be seen from up to 95 kilometers away.

1. The Burj Khalifa was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merill (SOM) an American architectural, urban planning, and engineering firm.
2.The cost of building was 1.5 billion dollars, with the towers itself costing 1 billion dollars.
3. Burj Khalifa has 163 floors in total.
4. Burj Khalifa is 3 times taller than Eiffel tower.
5.Over 10,000 fireworks were shot from the Burj Khalifa to celebrate its opening in 2010.
6. Burj Khalifa contains 57 elevators and 8 escalators.
7. Burj Khalifa is surrounded by a huge Dubai Fountain, which is approximately as big as two football fields.
8. The popular sound and light show was designed by the same company who created the fountains in the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Los Vegas.
9. Burj Khalifa houses a large art collection. There are 100-pieces art from sum of the world's best known artists.
